The first of Dylan’s two knee surgeries was yesterday, and everything went very well. He was such a champ about everything. I am always so impressed with anyone who can deal with all the medical stuff calmly, mostly because I am such a basketcase. We were able to retrieve him from the recovery area around 2:30. The nurse informed Jamie and I that he was “quite talkative” and had been whistling, in true Dylan form.

Luckily he has not had much pain yet, but he has been very tired. The pain medication seems to upset his stomach, so he has not been eating much. We have been gradually decreasing the amount of pain medication he is taking in hopes that it will help, but so far we haven’t had much luck. It makes me feel bad for him, and there isn’t a lot I can do about it. Hopefully he will perk up a little bit since his first physical therapy session is tomorrow morning.
