I was so mad this morning…mad as a little hornet.  It has been a long week.  I have put in full time hours because one of my co-workers is on vacation.  So I am filling in, but it makes for a long haul.  Anyway, that is not why I was riled up this morning, it is just why I really had no tolerance for the situation.  It had to do with this mysterious charge that appeared on my checking account.  I first discovered it on Wednesday…two days before pay day, when funds are always a little low.  It was 14.95 from this company called Passport to Fun, who I had never heard of.  After checking with Dylan, who also had no idea what this company or charge was, I started to worry.  I had no idea how these people had gained access to our account or how much money they would try to take.  I checked our account the next morning, however, and the charge had vanished.  I figured it was probably just some kind of processing error.
Wrong-o.  The sneaky charge had returned this morning.  I decided to Google this Passport to Fun, and stumbled upon several online postings from others with similar experiences of this company randomly charging accounts and credit cards.  I learned that they operate through VistaPrint, the company Dylan orders his business cards from.  It seemed very underhanded to me, and this is when I got super angry.
I found a number to call the company and cancelled our “service”, that we weren’t even aware of.  Then I waited until my lunch and called and talked to one of their representatives about refunding the unauthorized charges.  I was prepared to be a jerk if necessary, but it turns out I didn’t have to be too rotten.  Supposedly our account should be credited in the next 2 days.  It best be, if they know what’s good for them.

I had to cancel and reissue Dylan’s debit card, just to make sure that all access to the account was blocked.  It was just such a hassle.
